Q: we have a home for sale, got an offer 10k less than asking. we accepted but told our real estate agent that we were given no more. the inspection came back saying a new roof was needed(only has two roofs) want total tear off and a new electrical panel. They want an additional 8k. The house should have been listed at 330k but we listed at 315k. so they want the house for 297k it is in a prime location, total remodel on the inside, 3bd, 1bath, family room, rv parking, beautiful completed garage.
A: Sounds like you are the most interested party for this property & the highest bidder. If you really want to sell, then quit it! Let go of your ego & understand that the current market is what it is! If you still think that it is worth ‘more’ (in your own mind & a past market) then, stay there & enjoy. Otherwise, stop bidding on your own house – that is what one does in an offer / counter offer situation, isn’t it? P.S. – 2 roofs usually do need to be torn off before putting on a new roof – code, check it out yourself (I know you will).
