Who Is Responsible For The Water ?

April 30, 2019 by Rick Landuyt Leave a Comment

Q : Who should be financially responsible for water , septic, and well testing. The buyer or seller?

A : In Macomb County Michigan, the cost of the testing you asked about is usually negotiated in the purchase agreement. However, it is ultimately the responsibility (per the County code) of the owner / seller of the property to comply, even if something else was negotiated. Check with your County health department for their guidelines.
